Today's episode - "How to Get Verified on Spotify (Part 2)"

Your Weekly Tip

Yesterday, Mosseri (the head of Instagram) announced a new feature I've been waiting for over 10 years. No kidding.

It's the ability to rearrange the posts on your profile grid.

Three years ago I would have gone crazy about this. Today, I don't feel that way anymore.

So, before I show you how to use it, let me explain why I don't think this feature matters much to you as a musician.

Think about what someone sees when they open your profile.

The first thing is your follower count. The second thing is your bio. After that comes your pinned posts, and only then the rest of your posts.

And unless you're a photographer or a designer, your aesthetic isn't the thing that makes someone follow you. So moving your posts around won't really change anything.

People follow you because of your content and your bio. And of course, good music to start with.

Once they follow you, they see your posts on their feed anyway, not lined up neatly on your profile.

There's also something bigger going on.

In 2026, people want authenticity. A super polished feed kind of says "I care a lot about how I'm being seen" or "I want to impress you," and that's the opposite of authentic.

So what if you have an older post you want more people to see?

You have two simple options. You can pin it, or you can post it again.

And yes, posting it again works. The people who saw it the first time have probably forgotten about it, and a lot of your followers, new and old, never saw it even once.

But maybe the way your feed looks does matter to you, or you are a designer. In that case, here's how to rearrange it:

→ Go to your feed on your phone

→ Long press on one photo and tap "Reorder grid"

→ Move your photos around however you like

Now I want to talk about your pinned posts for a second.

"Finch, are you going to skip the bio part?" Yes, because I've covered it a few times already. But if you're new here and you want me to break down the bio next week, reply and let me know, and I'd be happy to do a full breakdown.

So, the pinned posts. You can pin 3 posts at the top of your profile, and these are the ones people see right after your bio.

Here are a few ideas for what to pin:

→ An introduction video or carousel

→ Your most viral post so far

→ A carousel or video from a live show

→ A social proof carousel (featured on, editorial playlists, press, etc.)

Pick the 3 that show a new visitor who you are and why your music is worth following (:

So, is there a way to use this new feature that I missed? Reply and let me know!

Your Weekly Reel Idea

One viral hook I really like is "this is proof you have rare taste in music, because you just found ____." You complete it with something specific about you and your music, then put it over a video of you performing a song or some b-roll footage.

By Finch Bergling Your Weekly Tip Here's something most musicians never notice about how record labels operate. Labels promote songs, sure. But the smart ones put just as much money into building playlists. Here's why that matters for you. A song gets one moment to win someone over. A playlist can bring that same person...
